Dr. Michael A. Helmrath is a pediatric surgeon-scientist and Surgical Director of the Intestinal Rehabilitation Program at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. He leads a multidisciplinary research team dedicated to translational, clinical, and basic science research focused on intestinal diseases, intestinal stem cell characterization, and development of intestinal regenerative strategies. His work bridges clinical care for children with intestinal failure and short bowel syndrome with cutting-edge bioengineering and organoid research.
