Surgical treatment of idiopathic megarectum in constipated children

Comparative study of 52 children with idiopathic megarectum shows laparoscopic low anterior resection with ultrasound-guided stapled anastomosis achieves better outcomes than traditional Soave pull-through, with lower complication rates and reduced postoperative soiling. Results support minimally invasive approach for surgical management of chronic constipation in pediatric patients.
