Abdominal esophageal banding for esophageal atresia with tracheoesophageal fistula in neonates with severe associated anomalies

This retrospective study evaluated abdominal esophageal banding materials in seven neonates with EA/TEF and severe comorbidities. ePTFE sheets showed the most favorable outcomes, while vinyl tape, silicone tape, and polyacetal clips had higher failure rates or complications. The technique serves as effective palliative treatment when primary repair is contraindicated.
