Is thoracoscopic esophageal atresia repair safe in the presence of cardiac anomalies?

Retrospective study of 25 infants undergoing thoracoscopic esophageal atresia repair found no significant difference in operative time or outcomes between patients with and without congenital heart disease. Results suggest thoracoscopic approach may be safe in CHD patients, though authors recommend prospective multicenter validation.
