Early pyeloplasty versus conservative management of severe ureteropelvic junction obstruction in asymptomatic infants

This prospective study of 56 infants with severe UPJO compares early surgical pyeloplasty versus conservative management. Early surgery accelerated anatomic and functional improvement at 6 months, while conservative management led to significant renal function deterioration despite similar 12-month outcomes between groups.
