Evaluating the utility of the "late ECMO repair": a congenital diaphragmatic hernia study group investigation

This multi-center study examines optimal timing for CDH repair in ECMO-supported patients. Findings demonstrate that patients stable enough for decannulation have extremely low rates of requiring return to ECMO or mortality post-repair, suggesting repair should be delayed until after ECMO discontinuation rather than performed on-ECMO to avoid unnecessary procedural risks.
