All right. Good afternoon, everyone. I would like to welcome everyone to our webinar today on navigating Perinatal care for trisomy 13 and 18. My name is Leandra Tousso, and I'm one of the genetic counselors here with the Cincinnati Children's Fetal Care Center. I'm honored to be one of your moderators today, along with Doctor Mallory Hoffman, maternal fetal medicine specialist, and Doctor Laura Galgansky, pediatric and fetal surgeon. We've gathered an expert panel for you today of speakers to explore the complexities and advancements in the care of patients with trisomy 13 and 18 during their pregnancy and their postnatal care. These conditions present unique challenges and require multidisciplinary and individualized approaches to provide the best possible outcomes for our patients and their families. Our goal is to share knowledge, discuss practical strategies, and inspire future research in this critical field. Our speakers today will cover a range of topics essential to perinatal care for these patients. Doctor Daniel Swarr will start us off with an overview of the natural history and survival of patients with trisomy 13 and 18, providing valuable insights into the prognosis and long-term outcomes for these patients. Doctor Mallory Hoffman will then highlight the key aspects of pregnancy management and considerations for this population. Doctor Jim Sonoda will focus on the latest advancements and treatment options for cardiac conditions, and then Doctor Laura Galgansky and Doctor Ruby Creek will discuss practical issues in the surgical care. They'll discuss unique considerations for surgical interventions and anesthesiology in this population. Doctor Natasha Henner will provide expert guidance regarding family-centered counseling and support to improve our communication and relationships with these families. And finally, Doctor John Carey will discuss future directions and research for Trisomy 13 and 18, offering a glimpse into the ongoing research and potential advancements in this field.
