Invited Commentary on: Psychological and Sexual Outcomes in Patients with Bladder Exstrophy and Their Caregivers

Published: Reading: 1 min

Abstract

Bladder exstrophy (BE) is a lifelong congenital condition that requires clinicians to attend not only to surgical outcomes but also to the patient's psychological development and family context. In this issue, Bakır and colleagues provide an important contribution by evaluating the psychosocial functioning of both BE patients and their caregivers. Their findings provide further evidence that individuals with BE frequently experience anxiety, depression, and varied challenges in sexual well-being.
