I invite the readership of the Journal of Pediatric Surgery to join me in celebrating the life and career of J. Alex Haller Jr. MD. Alex passed away peacefully at his beloved home in Glencoe, Maryland, with his wife Emily and family at his bedside on June 13, 2018. He was 91. He will be remembered as a first-class pediatric surgeon, a perpetual innovator, a periodic provocateur—and always an advocate for children and our specialty of Pediatric Surgery.
