Controversies in the management of neonatal testicular torsion: A meta-analysis

Meta-analysis of 196 neonatal testicular torsion cases found that bilateral exploration salvages 7% of ipsilateral testicles and prevents asynchronous torsion in 4% of cases. Authors recommend urgent bilateral exploration with contralateral orchiopexy to prevent anorchia, as 8-12% of patients benefit from this approach.
