A recent article in the journal, using Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes for circumcision in the 2011–2020 MarketScan database, found a frequency of penile problems during the first 5 years of life of 1.7% in circumcised vs. 0.5% in uncircumcised boys [1]. Procedure-related complications during the first 28 days post-circumcision were low (0.5%), 0.2% being from edema.
