Technical Aspects in Esophageal Lengthening: An Investigation of Traction Procedures and Suturing Techniques in Swine

This porcine model study evaluates optimal suture placement and sizing for traction-based esophageal lengthening in long-gap esophageal atresia. Results demonstrate that neither circumferential versus dorsal-only suture positioning nor suture size (4-0 vs 5-0) significantly affects mechanical stability, allowing surgeons to adapt technique based on individual patient anatomy.
