Rates of Hirschsprung-Associated Enterocolitis Decrease With Increasing Child Opportunity Index

This study investigates the relationship between socioeconomic factors and Hirschsprung-associated enterocolitis (HAEC) using the Child Opportunity Index. Findings reveal that children in higher-opportunity neighborhoods experience lower rates of HAEC, highlighting how social determinants impact surgical outcomes in Hirschsprung disease.
