Sex-based Disparities in the Management of Pediatric Gonadal Torsion

This study analyzes sex-based differences in surgical timing for gonadal torsion in children following implementation of a 2015 quality metric targeting testicular torsion but not ovarian torsion. The research examines whether performance metrics inadvertently create disparities in emergency surgical care between male and female pediatric patients.
