Characterizing Bariatric Surgery Utilization and Complication Rates in the Adolescent Population

NSQIP analysis of 2,625 adolescents (ages 18-21) undergoing bariatric surgery from 2005-2015 reveals a dramatic shift from Roux-en-Y to sleeve gastrectomy, with overall low complication rates (2.4%) and 30-day readmission of 4.1%.
