This German study compared outcomes of 229 pediatric UPJO cases treated by laparoscopic versus open pyeloplasty across pediatric surgeons and urologists. Laparoscopic approach reduced hospital stay by 4.3 days with equivalent complication rates, particularly benefiting children under 2 years, supporting broader adoption of minimally invasive techniques.
