Comparison of the results of open repair and laparoscopic repair with the PIRS method in the treatment of hydrocele in children

This retrospective study compares open versus laparoscopic repair using the PIRS (percutaneous internal ring suturing) technique for pediatric hydrocele in 113 patients. Laparoscopic repair demonstrated superior outcomes with lower recurrence rates (2.12% vs 10.6%) and better visualization of patent processus vaginalis connections.
