Validation of the predictive model for operative intervention after blunt abdominal trauma in children with equivocal computed tomography findings: a multi-institutional study

This multi-institutional study validates a predictive model for identifying pediatric blunt abdominal trauma patients requiring surgery. Free fluid, solid organ injury, and thoracolumbar fracture emerged as key factors, achieving 80% accuracy overall and 87% for motor vehicle collisions in predicting operative intervention.
