Recent trends in the prevalence of Helicobacter Pylori in symptomatic children: A 12-year retrospective study in a tertiary centre

Twelve-year retrospective study of 602 pediatric patients in Hong Kong shows H. pylori prevalence in symptomatic children declined from 25.6% to 12.8% (2005-2017), possibly due to reduced adult infection rates and decreased chopstick-sharing practices. However, first-line eradication failure increased from 10% to 29.3%, likely reflecting rising antibiotic resistance.
