Laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair (LIHR): the benefit of the double stitch in the largest single-center experience

This retrospective study of 1,195 pediatric patients demonstrates that laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair is safe across all ages, with particularly low recurrence rates when using a double-stitch technique. The series includes significant experience with premature infants and shows that adding a Z-stitch or second purse string significantly reduces recurrence risk compared to single-stitch closure.
