Management and outcomes of acute appendicitis in children during the COVID-19 pandemic: a systematic review and meta-analysis

This systematic review examines how COVID-19 pandemic affected pediatric appendicitis management across 36 studies (32,704 patients). Despite longer diagnostic delays and increased complicated appendicitis rates during the pandemic, post-operative complication rates remained unchanged, suggesting effective clinical adaptation to pandemic constraints.
