Risk factors for and developmental relation of delayed oral nutrition in infants with congenital diaphragmatic hernia

This retrospective study identifies large diaphragmatic defect size and prolonged mechanical ventilation (≥9 days) as independent risk factors for delayed oral feeding in CDH infants. Delayed oral nutrition strongly predicts developmental delay at 18 months, highlighting the need for early feeding intervention and developmental surveillance in high-risk CDH patients.
