Prednisolone administration monitored by postoperative stool color achieves high jaundice clearance after laparoscopic portoenterostomy for biliary atresia

This study demonstrates that using stool color to guide prednisolone dosing after laparoscopic portoenterostomy achieved 89.4% jaundice clearance in biliary atresia patients. The protocol used repeated courses of IV prednisolone with stool color as the indicator for treatment continuation or need for redo surgery/transplant.
