The advantages of duct-to-duct biliary reconstruction in pediatric living donor liver transplantation

This comparative study of 45 pediatric living donor liver transplant recipients demonstrates that duct-to-duct biliary reconstruction offers equivalent survival and biliary complication rates to Roux-en-Y hepaticojejunostomy, while significantly reducing intestinal complications (5% vs 36%). The findings support duct-to-duct as a safer alternative in appropriately selected pediatric cases.
