A pilot study of multi-modal pain management for same-day discharge after minimally invasive repair of pectus excavatum (Nuss procedure) in children

This pilot study demonstrates that combining bilateral single-shot paravertebral blocks with thoracoscopic intercostal nerve cryoablation enables same-day discharge in 65% of pediatric Nuss procedure patients, reducing median hospital stay from 4.4 days to 0.7 days while cutting opioid requirements by nearly half.
