This systematic review of 34 pediatric cases reveals that stump appendicitis, though rare, typically presents 7.5 months post-appendectomy with localized pain and often progresses to complicated forms due to delayed diagnosis. The condition occurs more frequently after laparoscopic procedures, with stumps averaging 2.79 cm in length, emphasizing the importance of complete appendix removal during initial surgery.
