Meta-Analysis on Long-Term Outcomes of Pediatric Renal Cancer Survivors Following COG and SIOP Protocols

This meta-analysis of 715 pediatric renal cancer survivors compared long-term outcomes between COG and SIOP treatment protocols over 17 years of follow-up. While renal function remained similar between protocols, hypertension affected 23% of COG patients versus 10% in SIOP, and secondary malignancies were more common in SIOP-treated patients (6.7% vs 1.1%), highlighting the critical need for lifelong surveillance in this population.
