The impact of intestinal atresia on educational and mental health outcomes in school-aged children: A case–control cohort study

This retrospective case-control study of 94 children with intestinal atresia found that patients without chromosomal anomalies have similar educational performance and mental health outcomes compared to matched controls. Only those with chromosomal anomalies showed increased risk of developmental delays and academic difficulties, providing reassuring prognostic information for families.
