Saving the perineal body—A modification of the posterior sagittal anorectoplasty

This study describes a modified PSARP technique that preserves the perineal body during repair of imperforate anus with rectovestibular, perineal, or absent fistula. Six patients underwent the procedure without complications, eliminating perineal body dehiscence and potentially improving long-term continence and quality of life outcomes.
