Relationship between the timing of chemotherapy and surgical complications following surgical biopsy in children with malignant solid tumors

Retrospective study of 43 pediatric patients with malignant solid tumors found that early chemotherapy initiation after surgical biopsy (median 4 days) resulted in low complication rates (4.7%), suggesting early treatment is safe even in the immediate postoperative period for children with bulky or symptomatic tumors.
