Resolution of Mild Pilonidal Disease in Adolescents Without Resection

Study of 102 adolescent patients demonstrates that mild pilonidal disease can be effectively resolved through conservative management combining improved hygiene, local pit excision, and laser hair ablation, avoiding the morbidity of traditional surgical resection. 77 of 78 patients achieved disease resolution after mean 4 clinic visits over 30 weeks with no activity restrictions.
