Surgical management strategy of alimentary tract duplication involving the rectum in children

Retrospective study of 9 children with alimentary tract duplication involving the rectum (ATD-R) demonstrates that this rare condition typically occurs with normal anorectal development rather than malformation. Surgical resection maintaining colorectal integrity achieved good outcomes in all followed patients, supporting ATD-R as an important differential diagnosis for pediatric anorectal symptoms.
