Selective enlargement of left lateral segment liver volume as a potential diagnostic predictor for biliary atresia

CT volumetry study of 25 infants demonstrates that selective enlargement of the left lateral segment (LLS ratio >0.322) is highly specific for biliary atresia diagnosis. Combined GGT × LLS ratio achieves 86.7% sensitivity and 100% specificity, offering a potential early diagnostic tool and insight into BA pathophysiology.
