Meeting in the middle: pediatric abdominal wall reconstruction for omphalocele

Retrospective study of seven pediatric omphalocele patients requiring complex abdominal wall reconstruction demonstrates successful outcomes using component separation technique with primary fascial closure, avoiding mesh placement. Multidisciplinary collaboration between Pediatric and Plastic Surgery achieved zero complications and recurrences in large defects averaging 103 cm².
