This study analyzed appendectomy outcomes and costs at rural hospitals using the Kids' Inpatient Database (2003-2012). The research examines quality and safety of pediatric surgical care in geographically remote areas, addressing gaps in understanding rural hospital performance for common pediatric procedures.
