A CT scan-based formula for predicting central venous catheter length in pediatric patients

Retrospective study of 115 pediatric patients develops height-based formulas to predict optimal central venous catheter length for right and left subclavian insertion, reducing dependence on fluoroscopy. New formulas demonstrate superior accuracy compared to existing Andropoulos and Stroud formulas, with prospective validation confirming clinical utility.
