European Pediatric Surgeons' Association Survey on the Use of Splenic Embolization in Blunt Splenic Trauma in Children

European survey of 157 pediatric surgeons reveals that two-thirds have access to splenic embolization for high-grade splenic trauma, with its use increasing when contrast extravasation is present or concomitant spinal surgery is needed. Significant practice variation exists in embolization indications and post-procedure antibiotic/immunization protocols.
