Topic overview

Following the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision on overturning Roe v. Wade which ends the constitutional right to abortion, this decision may hugely impact the direction of neonatological care in many states in addition to widely discussed women's rights and obstetric care. In the National Vital Statistics report, 77.1% of women sought prenatal care during the first trimester of pregnancy in 2016 [1]. During the first trimester, up to 60% of high-risk fetal structural abnormalities could be detected through ultrasound screening [2].
