Primary or Redo Posterior Sagittal Anorectoplasty without a Stoma: To Feed or Not to Feed?

Comparative study of 52 pediatric patients undergoing primary or redo posterior sagittal anorectoplasty demonstrates that early initiation of clear liquids within 24 hours is safe compared to prolonged NPO status. Early feeding reduced PICC line use from 46.6% to 3.8% without increasing wound complications, simplifying postoperative management.
