Laparoscopic versus Open Reduction of Intussusception in Infants and Children: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis

This systematic review of 502 pediatric patients demonstrates that laparoscopic reduction of intussusception offers shorter hospital stays and faster return to oral intake compared to open surgery, with comparable complication and recurrence rates. The evidence supports laparoscopic reduction as a safe and effective alternative for children with intussusception that fails enema reduction.
