Primary and secondary vaginal reconstruction with autologous buccal mucosa and intravaginal wound vacuum therapy
Topic overview
Retrospective study of seven adolescent patients who underwent vaginal reconstruction using autologous buccal mucosa grafts combined with novel intravaginal negative pressure wound therapy. All cases demonstrated excellent graft engraftment at seven days with healthy mucosa at follow-up, suggesting this approach may optimize healing and reduce the need for prolonged vaginal stenting compared to traditional methods.
