Long-term outcomes following failure of Nissen fundoplication

Retrospective study of 190 pediatric patients requiring intervention after failed Nissen fundoplication found 63% underwent redo fundoplication with decreasing success rates after each attempt. Patients previously managed with gastro-jejunal feeding had significantly higher redo failure rates, suggesting symptom-free jejunal feeding may be preferable to repeated surgical intervention.
