Testicular volume loss in the long-term follow-up after surgical detorsion of the testis

Retrospective study of 43 patients who underwent surgical detorsion for testicular torsion found that 53% experienced long-term testicular volume loss. Time to surgery exceeding 5.5 hours predicted volume loss with 87.5% sensitivity, emphasizing the critical importance of rapid intervention in testicular torsion cases.
