Reduced complication rate after implementation of a detailed treatment protocol for percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy with T-fastener fixation in pediatric patients: A prospective study

Prospective study of 82 pediatric patients demonstrates that implementing a standardized treatment protocol for PEG-T placement with T-fastener fixation significantly reduced operating time and complications compared to historical controls. The protocol-driven approach particularly decreased T-fastener-related complications and tube dislodgment in this vulnerable population.
