Topical Mitomycin C Application in Pediatric Patients with Recurrent Esophageal Strictures—Report on Unfavorable Results

Retrospective study of 11 pediatric patients with recurrent esophageal strictures treated with topical Mitomycin C during endoscopic dilatation shows only 55% success rate, contradicting previously reported high efficacy. Five patients failed therapy, with two requiring surgical revision, suggesting limited benefit and need for randomized trials.
