Intrauterine Ultrasound-Guided Laser Coagulation as a First Step for Treatment of Prenatally Complicated Bronchopulmonary Sequestration: Our Experience and Literature Review

This study reviews ultrasound-guided laser coagulation for prenatally complicated bronchopulmonary sequestration with severe hydrothorax or fetal hydrops. Analysis of 57 cases shows 94.7% success in reversing fetal distress, though 80% had residual masses postnatally and 26% required postnatal resection, indicating the procedure stabilizes pregnancy but is not definitive treatment.
