Value of urinary carbohydrate antigen 19–9 to predict failure of conservative management in children with ureteropelvic junction obstruction

Study of 112 children with ureteropelvic junction obstruction evaluating urinary CA19-9 as a predictive biomarker for surgical intervention. Elevated CA19-9 levels (>52.6 U/mL) demonstrated 92% sensitivity in identifying patients who would fail conservative management and require pyeloplasty.
