The detail profile of cause of recurrences after laparoscopic percutaneous extraperitoneal closure (LPEC) in children: a systematic review

Systematic review of 121 pediatric patients identifies technical factors causing hernia recurrence after LPEC repair. Knot loosening accounts for 61% of recurrences, occurring primarily within the first postoperative year in male infants. Findings emphasize proper suture technique and high ligation to minimize recurrence risk.
