A meta-analysis comparing dorsal plication and ventral lengthening for chordee correction during primary proximal hypospadias repair
Topic overview
Meta-analysis of 582 patients shows ventral lengthening techniques have significantly lower recurrent chordee rates (5.3%) compared to dorsal plication (25.4%) in proximal hypospadias repair. Single-layer small-intestinal-submucosa and ventral corporotomies demonstrated the best outcomes among lengthening methods.
