Topic overview

Vesicoscopic cross-trigonal ureteric reimplantation for vesicoureteric reflux (VUR) is an established but technically challenging procedure. It is an approach that recreates all aspects of open cross-trigonal repair with results equivalent to open ureteral reimplantation but with the added benefit of decreased analgesic requirements. [1] The technique, as described by Jayanthi et al., is performed using a five-mm camera port placed in the midline and two three-mm working ports placed laterally. [2] Trocar positioning by the railroading technique, as described by Abraham et al., is a simpler and safer way to anchor the bladder wall to the abdominal wall.
